вообще vs вообще-то — in general vs actually

"Вообще" means "in general," "at all," or "completely." "Вообще-то" means "actually" or "to be honest" — it softly introduces a correction. "Он вообще не пьёт" = he doesn't drink at all. "Вообще-то я не согласен" = actually, I disagree.
