Top 100 Russian Verbs with Conjugations & Aspect Pairs
The 100 most-used Russian verbs cover the vast majority of everyday speech. Most appear in aspect pairs: an imperfective form for ongoing or repeated actions and a perfective form for completed, single events — for example писа́ть / написа́ть ("to write"), чита́ть / прочита́ть ("to read"), and де́лать / сде́лать ("to do, make").
Learning verbs as pairs from day one is far more efficient than memorising one form and discovering the other later. Pair them with their conjugation pattern (1st or 2nd conjugation), the case they govern, and a sample sentence — that combination is what makes them usable in real sentences.
